Harvard Considering Woman President

Drew Gilpin is being considered by Harvard University to replace current President Lawrence Summers. She’s an expert on the Civil War and the American South….and she led the faculty gender task force at Harvard – created after the recent controversery about women’s potential in the sciences – stirred up by Summers’ comments at a faculty event. Click for a Yahoo story to read more. This is a major leap for American society to have one of the top Ivy League schools to be considering a woman president. I also want to tip my hat to Associate Dean Lalia Rach at NYU’s Tisch Hotel School who has held that post for about ten years.
